Roof Insulation
Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) stands the test of time, and EPS roof insulation is a proven performer in roofing applications. Field studies of EPS roof installations that are 20 to 25 years old and older show that EPS roofing insulation performs well in roof applications. EPS roof insulation has no thermal drift and does not use blowing agents that diffuse out of the insulation. EPS roof insulation R-values remain stable over its entire life without loss of R-value. ACH Foam-Control Tapered Roof
Insulation was developed more than 30 years ago with a dual purpose: to drain
and insulate dead-level roof decks. Lightweight Foam-Control EPS is a
value-engineered system that has been proven in new and reroof applications all
over the country.
The roofing industry accepts that membrane performance and roof drainage go hand in hand. Membrane manufacturers will not guarantee the performance of their system without positive drainage, and building codes mandate positive roof drainage.
Simply stated, all single-ply, modified bitumen and BUR roofing membranes are less likely to leak and fail if water is not standing on top of them. Potential water damage to the building and its contents is thus eliminated. ACH Foam-Control EPS Tapered provides the drainage and insulation necessary under all commercial roofing systems and has been used successfully in millions of square feet of single-ply, modified bitumen, and built-up roofing. ACH Foam-Control Tapered Roof Insulation is a great solution for low slope roofing.
Also, pre-engineered factory cut cricket and saddle systems provide effective and economical drainage on structurally sloped roof decks.
ACH Foam-Control® Flat
Roof Insulation provides the high, long-term R-value of EPS and labor-saving
face laminates. Suitable for use with all roofing membrane materials, EPS roof
insulation is compatible with loose-laid and attached single-ply membranes,
conventional built-up roofing or modified bitumen systems.
Foam-Control® Flat Roof Insulation is unfaced EPS and is suitable for use with loosely laid single-ply membranes. It is also used with conventional BUR and mechanically or adhesively attached single-ply and modified bitumen membranes when field-applied coverboards are use. Boards are standard 4'x4' and 4'x8' sizes.
ACH Foam-Control® roof insulation is available with a factory-laminated fiberboard, perlite or OSB face that give greater panel integrity and reduces installation time. It's ideal for use with conventional BUR and mechanically or adhesively attached single-ply and modified bitumen membranes. Standard panel size is 4'x4' and 4'x8'. OSB-faced panel size is 4'x8'.

ACH Foam-Control® Nailbase Roof Insulation is a nailable panel
of exposure I-rated oriented strand board (OSB) and UL classified
Foam-Control® EPS rigid insulation. As an ideal insulation and nailable
roofing surface over structural roof decks, its stability and traffic
resistance make it the perfect solution for both residential and commercial
roof decks.
Foam-Control® Nailbase Roof Insulation installs quickly over structural roof or wall decking with screw connections. Standard roofing materials, such as shingles, shakes, standing-seam metal, tile, slate, etc. may be applied to Foam-Control® Nailbase Roof Insulation.

Direct-to-Deck EPS is a cost-effective, durable and energy-efficient
solution for roof insulation. With the release of the ICC-ES Evaluation Report
ESR-2043, EPS insulation can be applied directly over steel roof decks without
the use of a code-specified thermal barrier, resulting in reduced material and
labor costs.
ACH Foam Technologies' Direct-to-Deck EPS is compatible with all major roofing materials and assemblies. Additional benefits, such as design flexibility, resistance to moisture and high R-value, make ACH's EPS roof insulation the preferred roofing solution among contractors, architects and engineers.
In comparison to Polyisocyanurate and Extruded Polystyrene, ACH Direct-to-Deck Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) has lower cost per R-value. Shorter production time results from localized manufacturing plants creating shorter shipping distances make ACH EPS an unbeatable value.
SecureTherm Composite Roof Insulation is a high
performance, light weight and water resistant expanded polystyrene (EPS) roof
insulation that is factory laminated to a durable fiberglass facer to meet UL
Class A requirements.
ACH Foam's SecureTherm Composite Roof Insulation is the preferred roofing solution among architects and contractors for low-sloped applications employing all mechanically fastened or ballasted single ply, modified bitumen and built-up roof systems.
SecureTherm Composite Roof Insulation offers energy efficiency, durability and saves installation labor by eliminating the need for a cover board in many membrane applications. SecureTherm Composite Roof Insulation has a stable R-value and is available with a 20-year thermal warranty, along with a variety of thicknesses to meet virtually any R-value. EPS Composite Roof Insulation meets and exceeds requirements of ASTM C578.
Polar Fold is a high performance roofing recover
board consisting of light weight, energy efficient, expanded polystyrene (EPS)
laminated between strong foil and film facers. Polar Fold Roofing ReCover
Board is the preferred solution for re-roofing applications among architects
and contractors and is compatible with single ply ballasted and mechanically
attached roof systems.
Polar Fold offers energy efficiency, water resistance and versatility. Polar Fold is easy to handle and install, saving time and labor. The innovative fan fold design insures Polar Fold lays flat during installation providing a level surface for roof membranes.
Polar-R is also available for roof applications and comes in 4'x8' sheets in ½" to 4" thicknesses and is manufactured with the same quality materials as Polar Fold.
Some membrane manufacturers will require a higher concentration of fasteners. Consult membrane manufacturer for installation instructions. One fastener is placed at each corner of the leading and trailing edges of Polar Fold. One fastener is placed every 12 feet on altering sides of the sheet thereafter. When used with dark colored membranes, Polar Fold should be installed with the silver or foil side up.
Labor Savings & User
Friendly
Polar Fold is available in 4' x 50' fan fold sheets that
arrive in compact, light weight bundles, making it easy to handle and install.
The 50 foot length of Polar Fold speeds installation time. Polar
Fold is designed to lay flat during installation, eliminating seam
welding problems experienced with other fan fold insulations. Beginning of
installation indicates that the contractor has accepted the condition of the
existing substrate.
Durable and Water
Resistant
Polar Fold's high performance EPS is wrapped in tough film and
foil facers making it durable and water resistant. Polar Fold has low
water absorption and rate of permeability which makes it a superior product for
re-roof applications. The film facers allow single ply membranes, including
PCV, to be installed directly over Polar Fold without additional slip
sheets.
Cost Effective Precision
Performance
Polar Fold is less expensive than other re-cover
products and provides more R-value for less money. High performance EPS
insulation also has a consistent long-term R-value that does not experience
thermal drift.
R-Control® SIPs (Structural Insulated
Panels) are a strong structural system consisting of Perform Guard®
Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) insulation laminated to oriented strand board (OSB)
forming a structural panel. R-Control® Structural Insulated Panels are used
for walls, roofs and floors. They resist loads caused by wind, snow and seismic
activity.
R-Control® Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) help you build faster. Labor time savings range from 30-40%. The contractor's crew spends more time building and builds more in less time. R-Control® Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) are available in sizes from 4'x8' to 8'x24'.
R-Control© Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) have passed structural and fire tests as prescribed by national building code authorities. Load tests include transverse, vertical compression, and racking shear loading. Fire tests include corner room burn and fire exposure under load.
R-Control® incorporates a thick core of rigid Perform Guard® EPS termite resistant insulation. Perform Guard® is made under a patented process which uses a natural mineral that is formulated to resist termites and builds it right into the insulation.
